Renovation
Renovation of a 15th Century Farmhouse

Materials and Renovating
Materials used in this renovation project a 15th century house have to be considered carefully.
A couple of centuries age joinery workers did not have the facilities and tools we have today.
They had to use what ever was available to them in the local area.
Usually this consisted of trees, trees and more trees. So trees where what they used.... for every thing, lintels, roof materials, floor joists, door frames, in fact every thing that timber could be used for, they used it.
Joinery tools where also primitive but, I must sat, effective.
"They don't build them like they used to" springs to mind, and this renovation project has cerainly been a project to remember.
Of course, lacking the modern tools that Joinery Rotherham use today, the old guys in the 15th century did a good job.
Hey, it's still standing and in good structural order.
Nothing is staight though, and this compounds the problems of giving a customer with such a property the standard that customers have a right to expect in todays world.
No problem is insurmountable however and we do the maximum we can to satisfy any customer.
Updates.
Almost two thirds of the way to completion including loads of unexpected extras that always appear on this sort of work, we (The customer and us) are very happy with the job so far.
Nothing has worked out the way we would have liked of course, but the work looks very good and every one is happy up to now.
